Basic Structure
The structure of ZDY/ZLY/ZSY series cylindrical gear units follows standardized design, with good interchangeability of core components. The whole unit consists of four major parts: transmission mechanism, support mechanism, box body, and accessories. Working Principle
The core working principle of the ZDY/ZLY/ZSY series cylindrical gear units is to use the tooth number difference of gear meshing to realize speed reduction and torque amplification. The transmission process of gear units with different stages is slightly different, but essentially follows the law of involute gear transmission. The specific working process is as follows:
- Power Input: A high-speed power source such as a motor is connected to the input shaft of the gear unit, driving the driving gear (pinion) on the input shaft to rotate at high speed. The driving gear has fewer teeth and has the characteristics of high speed and low torque, providing basic power for subsequent speed reduction transmission.
- Meshing Speed Reduction: The driving gear drives the driven gear (gear wheel) to rotate through tooth surface meshing. Since the number of teeth of the driven gear is more than that of the driving gear, according to the gear transmission ratio formula (transmission ratio = number of teeth of driven gear / number of teeth of driving gear), the speed of the driven gear will be lower than that of the driving gear, and the torque will be amplified in inverse proportion to the transmission ratio. Among them, the ZDY series completes one speed reduction through single-pair gear meshing, which is suitable for scenarios with a transmission ratio of 3~5; the ZLY series realizes secondary speed reduction through two-stage gear meshing, with a transmission ratio range of 8~40; the ZSY series completes three speed reductions through three-stage gear meshing, which can obtain a larger transmission ratio.
- Power Output: After single-stage or multi-stage gear speed reduction, the final driven gear transmits the low-speed and high-torque rotational motion to the output shaft, which is then connected to the working machine to drive it to complete various operations. The intermediate shaft of the ZLY/ZSY series undertakes the role of transmitting power between gears at all stages, ensuring the smooth connection of the speed reduction process.

- Strong Load-Bearing Capacity and Long Service Life: The gears are made of high-strength low-carbon alloy steel. After carburizing and quenching, the tooth surface has high hardness and good wear resistance. Combined with the load distribution characteristics of multi-tooth meshing, it can bear large radial and axial loads. Compared with soft-tooth-surface reducers, its service life is greatly extended, and it can adapt to heavy-load and continuous-operation industrial scenarios.
- Smooth Transmission and Low Noise: The core transmission adopts a helical gear structure. Compared with spur gears, helical gears have larger contact area and smaller impact during meshing, resulting in smoother transmission process and significantly lower operating noise; at the same time, the standardized structural design and high-precision processing technology further improve the transmission stability.
- Standardized Structure and Good Interchangeability: Main parameters such as center distance and nominal transmission ratio are optimally designed and produced in accordance with unified national standards.
